Poet’s Search for A Swain: Oscar Wilde’s Garden of Eros – the Movie

I am currently searching for a young actor aged 17-18 to play the part of a swain for a film of Oscar Wilde’s poem.

The film will be a voice-over with Miss G and her swain telling the story of young lovers through movement.

I accidentally met members of Morecambe Ramblers yesterday and left details to see if anyone can make suggestions for location shoots around Silverdale, one of Lancashire’s beauty spots and a tourist and walkers’ hotspot.

The shooting will be the end of August and the first few days in September now.

The situation now is that Poet is awaiting news from a youth group.

Thanks to photographers from Pexels for some of the shots for my slideshow.

Hope you enjoy it!

As Oscar Wilde has dominated recent posts it’s back to nature this week!

Sunday, 3rd June was the perfect day to catch up with The Arthur Ransome Experience!

Barbon Fell is a delightful place for this!   It offers a true taste of pastoral England untouched by time!

It awakened a nostalgia for childhood and memories of placing stones across the water to create a pathway over the stream!  I must have been about five years old at the time!

The Walkers and Blackett’s would love it!

Here are slides of a truly wonderful day and a magical landscape for you to enjoy!

Boats in Glasson Dock

Glasson Dock is the perfect place for tourists with a true Ransome-esque flavour!

The magnificent marina and fine boats takes your breath away!

It is the perfect place to go on a bright winter day as I did and really lifts the spirits!

This village with a rich history going back to the eighteenth century is clean, small and quaint with some great places to eat or buy food, notably the Dalton Arms and the Smokehouse.

For Arthur Ransome fans who want the A R experience there are also some walks along the canal in which to enjoy and savour the wildlife of Lancashire!
